Discover Lismore – Gotta love it
Lismore is the market town of the Northern Rivers situated in far North of NSW. There is a lot to love about Lismore with its close nit colorful community and all that it has to offer. We are a town famous for its street art, art galleries, markets and excellent restaurants. Lismore has a long history of being an easy place to visit. Relaxing, full of cute little cafes down the Magellan St, and a wondrous paradise for the vegetarian. Wonder down some of the hidden arcades and discover little coffee shops that are appearing in the most unlikely places. Lismore is a fun place to shop for the unusual and quirky. Just like heading to the charity shops that are so popular in the cities, In Lismore many people happily haunt these shops and get great trendy outfits . If antiques shops are your fix there are many plotted around the town. and for those who love to haunt them enjoy. I guess Lismore is that little bit eccentric and famous for being described as the rainbow country. Surrounded by markets in most of the little towns around it. But your in for a treat if you are here on the first or third Sunday of the month. Lucky you its Lismore’s own market. Its busy and full of locals. It has quite an atmosphere and highly recommended. It is sheltered from rain and heat because its under the big square car park that is undercover. Cool in summer and yes you guessed it, rug up, as it is cool in winter.
Lismore has a unique style of timber bungalow houses that are dearly loved that make walking the inner streets quite a lot of fun. Elindale House in all its splendour is an exceptional house full with character features and built to a that style of 1930’s. Elindale is situated in a quiet street, a pretty location around the corner from St Vincents Private hospital. Two minutes drive from the public hospital and the closest boutique accommodation to Southern Cross University. Lismore is ideally located, it is surrounded by the hinterland of Byron Bay with lots of cutesy towns to visit. Ballina is just 30 minutes away and Byron Bay 45 minutes. Lismore is an excellent getaway with Brisbane away by car on a good day.
